Al Jazeera has acquired the regional broadcast rights to the FIFA World Cups of 2022. The broadcaster will air games across the MENA region, The deal includes cable TV, satellite, terrestrial, mobile and broadband rights across 23 territories and countries. FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, the international men’s football mega tournament contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA after every four years. The FIFA World Cup 2022 is scheduled to be held in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022. This will be the first World Cup ever to be held in the Arabian nation and the second World Cup entirely contested in Asia. 32 teams will participate in the tournament. Total 32 qualified teams will participate in the tournament, and will be divided into eight groups of four teams.

The 2Sport2 consortium has secured media rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar across free-to-air (FTA) and pay-TV in Russia. Antenna TV bought exclusive media rights to air the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Greece. Greece’s free-to-air broadcaster will cover the tournament daily and live coverage of all 64 matches on its platforms. Ant1TV will telecast at least 32 matches, including the opening match, quarterfinals, semi-finals, and final.
