Perhaps the most ambitious aspect to Remake is its narrative. Stopping Sephiroth and Shinra remains the primary objective. However, vital changes to the game's finale and a swath of fleshed-out peripheral characters, as well as new ones, might mean that Remake's unfinished story will branch off in interesting and unexpected ways. | Our Review
Final Fantasy XIII is so disappointing because it had so much potential. The world is gorgeous, resurrecting the class system was a great idea and the eldritch overtones could've made for a unique science-fantasy horror story. The pieces of greatness were all there, but they were assembled in completely the wrong order. To give its defenders their due, it does indeed get better after 20 hours. The unanswered question, however, is why any game should make a player wait that long to have fun.
The saga of the 90s action hero has three claims to fame. Not only is Duke Nukem Forever the game with the longest developmental time, but it also is the most aptly named. The game that took a decade and a half to finally release would include the word "forever" in its title.
And finally, there's Final Fantasy 15, as well as its bite-sized version, Final Fantasy 15: Pocket Edition. The latest main series Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy 15 earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, launching alongside a variety of companion material to better flesh-out its world. Both are playable on PS5 thanks to the console's backward compatibility with the PS4.
All told, there are 14 Final Fantasy games available on the PlayStation 5 between the main series entries and the various spin-off games, but there's even more Final Fantasy titles coming to Sony's next-generation console in the future. The big one is Final Fantasy 16, the next main series entry, which seems to be returning the franchise back to its pure fantasy roots. And not only is Final Fantasy 16 coming to the PlayStation 5, it's also set to be a timed-PS5 exclusive, making it particularly noteworthy for PS5 fans.
The golden crystal was chosen because in the game it is from the crystal that all life originates and all life returns to end. More precisely, our souls. The crystal was an emotional rescue that Square achieved by returning with the high fantasy settings in the ninth installment of the franchise. So much that at the time, FFIX was advertised with the slogan "The Crystal Comes Back". 2b1af7f3a8
